Instance Director: Amanda Evans Synopsis: A unique fable set in an interconnected world of dark, light and independent thought. Instance connects the seemingly random alienations of life and transforms them into stepping-stones of limitless potential. In an urban world where the spirit of the individual is so easily forgotten, the characters of Instance have a delicate and gentle humility in their inner revelations and a bravery to step up, out of the norm and in a curious moment of truth find a very real sense of belonging. Bruadar, a tall quirky fellow, whom is so desperately wanting to accomplish something extraordinary, overlooks his most marvellous and unique attribute - he defies the law of gravity. The Man on the Ceiling avoids the stares and judgement of people while dreaming of the sensation of walking among them unnoticed. He has to find the courage to go out and face his fears and realise his mustard seed of potential. Nearby in a small side street café, a Unique Man with a vision and ability with words, turns the tables on reality over a cup of coffee. Alice, a contemporary wallflower, whose ability to blend into her surroundings has left her lost in loneliness, catches a glimpse of the Unique Man’s Vision. She is moved by its beauty, although once home, the moment only magnifies her isolation and despair. In an instance of selfless realisation Bruadar leaves the world of the ordinary, Alice is “seen”, and life proves itself to be unashamedly capable of marvellous things. An entanglement of vision and imaginings, Instance allows all boundaries to fall and invite the possibility that when everything appears upside down it may very well be the very upside of life after all." Lotus Director: Amanda Evans Synopsis: This is a story about life as much as it is about death. This is a journey through love, friendship, shadows and murder, a journey that will challenge you, provoke you, inspire you - maybe it will break you, maybe it will open you, it is all your choice after all. The power of the individual is immeasurable; it is something that cannot be taken away from you in life or death. This is a story about me and how I wont be silenced, I wont do the right thing and allow karma or a greater power to judge you and find a punishment for your so-called perfect crime. I wont be silenced and make time your accessory. No matter how dark it gets, you can’t put out a light without consequence. You can’t silence the Lotus. I will find you and when you fall asleep at night you will hear me coming. Cate Aldred/ Extract Tape 005/18/20/2007 |
